Sometimes even the best drivers have an off day, if we can call it that.
Take a look at Nostalgia Top Fuel driver Denver Schutz qualifying attempt at Bakersfield last week. Apparently the FED encountered severe tire shake, drifted out of the grove and then took out the 1/8 mile cone. Instead of allowing the car to veer into the other lane, Schutz corrected...too much...which caused the car to bicycle on two wheels, and while he corrected for this as well, he slapped the wall.
So much horsepower and only 13-inch wide slicks; this is how they ran back in the day. Nostalgia dragsters, with virtually no down force in comparison to their younger brothers, can be tricky to drive.
