Just couldn't let this announcement pass by without highlighting it for our readers. Nissan has built a concept car that could see production...
In the quest to get the millennials interested in cars again, Nissan created the IDx Freeflow (pictured on the right) and the IDx Nismo. And even though Nissan states that it uses new product development to meet the needs of younger customers who have exciting ideas and engage with them to make the cars they want, many feel like it is the rebirth of the 510! It was about time.
Going a bit retro, like Fiat did with its 500 a couple of years ago, Nissan appears to be following suit with the pair. The IDx Freeflow is the more casual looking with its back-to-basic looking interior which holds up to four passengers. The IDx Nismo is the former's wilder sibling, with a 1.6 liter turbo engine linked to a sportier CVT and 225/40 19-inch tires.... it just exudes sportiness. I have a friend up in North Florida, U.S.A. who used to race a souped-up Datsun 510 on circuits. I think it may have even been taken out to the Daytona International Speedway too.
Hon, forget about that Fiat 500!
Thanks for reading.
