From the creators of Spyker and Jos "The Boss" - ver. 1 & 2

The other day while doing research I came across a story on Jalopnik by Chris Perkins that made me laugh. Titled "The Ten Most Bizarre Motor Races In The World" I was intrigued by what I would find at number 1 so I read it and would now like to share it with you.

Simply put if it can be raced, you can count that people will race it. This is evident all over the world, from bull racing (as illustrated on the right), in Kerala, India to ... well, you get the point.

So this is the top ten:
10. SCHOOL BUS racing, huge but slow, they are the most fun when racing in figure eight format,
9. SNOWMOBILE WATER drag racing, big in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Love the go-for-broke mentality, W.O.T. or sink!
8. COMBINE HARVESTER racing, the French love this.... watch the video here.
7. PIAGGIO APE racing, aka Tuk-Tuk, just add a souped-up motorcycle engine and you're off,
6. BELT SANDER racing, yep just get a power tool and go drag racing, kinda like matchbox car racing by way of slots. Don't believe it, click here.
5. BAR STOOL racing, like a go-kart but with a higher seating position. Tips over easier! I think we need to organize this one in Curaçao.
4. POWER RACING series (for adults), built with a pre-set budget, in Europe is is a breading ground for future F1 technicians and engineers.
3. BOAT TRAILER racing, car+trailer+boat start with at least the car+part of the trailer finishing the race,
2. FIGURE EIGHT TRAIN racing, 3 cars chained together, with drivers in no 1 and 3 car, with the latter having the brakes,
1. REVERSE racing, arguably the simplest premise here, and with the most hysterical results.... who else but the Dutch... at Zandvoort. For the video, please click here (commentary in Dutch by Andre van Duin).

Not one to brag but the Dutch have a variation of the top three in the video compilation. Who knew the Dutch could have so much fun!

Thanks for reading.
