The King's stuff up for auction

For those die-hard drag race fans out there that still remember the names of Darrel Gwynn and Kenny Bernstein, on March 14 next, the Darrel Gwynn Foundation will auction off select pieces of its Kenny Bernstein Personal Collection. Some of these celebrate the lifetime achievements of the late Dale Armstrong, who as "The King's" crew chief, was instrumental in Kenny's milestone achievements, which include first drag racer to break the 300-mph barrier and six time NHRA world champion.

Dale Armstrong passed away last November. He was a talented driver, tuner, fabricator and innovator rivaled only by the legendary "Big Daddy" Don Garlits. He was 73.

The auction will be conducted both live and online by J. Sugarman Auction Corp. The auction will begin at 6.00 pm at the Auto-Plus Raceway at Gainesville, rounding out a day of drag racing at the 46th annual Amalie - Gatornationals. For more information on the action please click here.
