The other day while doing research I came across a video titled "MotoGP Misano 2014 - Paddock Girls". Loved it!
See it for yourself, by clicking here.
If you haven't noticed motorsports and beautiful women go hand-in-hand.
Although I've always enjoyed it without ever thinking about it, there must be a valid reason for it. And there is. Being a male dominated sport [except for NHRA drag racing] it helps to have a beautiful girl close by. Mostly for promotion of brands these beautiful girls keep some driver and riders in the shade while others sit on the latest bikes or show off interesting characteristics of the latest model of cars or motorcycles. In some cases, like this motorcycle race in Misano, these beautiful girls add some extra glamour.
There is even an entire industry behind this. Mostly these are promotional agencies who have an extensive network in the modeling industry. These agencies provide amongst others: grid girls, motorsport girls, promotional models, show girls, and so on.
The photo on the right shows how World Champion Marc Marques is promoted.. look closely. I believe the topic merits a separate blog.
Thanks for reading.

Update: The post above contains an error which was made consciously and to prove a point. Most motorcycle racing followers know that Marc VDS stands for Marc van der Straten Racing. A handful of readers pointed this out to us. Thank you for taking the time to write us. It is appreciated!
Marc Márquez races for Repsol Honda. MarcVDS is a completely different team. Just to prove I did look closely!! Pete
