The funny side of the 1993 F1 season

Here's a flash back to almost twenty years ago, when the sport of Formula One wasn't as tightly regulated and local race producers didn't take into consideration what was best for the sport in general. Well, in short it made for some "narrate by the seat-of-your-pants" moments and luckily for us, someone by the nickname of Conquerer13 made a compilation for us to watch and laugh at.

As he explains, the video is of highlights throughout the 1993 season showing the lighter, funnier side of Formula One. Enjoy!



South Africa
-Damon Hill plays a Sega Game Gear
-Prost's onboard footage breaks up in a timely, typical Murray Walker fashion
-Schumacher is too angered to give an interview to Jonathan Palmer after his retirement
-Murray tells Prost's story of not wanting to choose the number 0 for his car
-Brundle retires just after Murray mentions him being in 6th place and about to praise him

Brazil
-Murray reacts to the footage switching to a different battle after he tell us to watch the battlle for 5th
-A marshall sits on the nose of a retired Footwork as it's raised into the air to be placed on a truck

Europe
-Murray calls Michael Andretti by his father's name, Mario
-James Hunt calls Suzuki "spinner of the year" and goes on about his countless spins
-Murray also jokes about Suzuki
-Hunt comments on the elegance two cars "waltzing" as they both spin without contact
-Senna waves his arm at Herbert as he laps him, with Murray telling us what he's saying
-Senna begs for a flag after winning the the race and loses it in the rear suspension once he finally gets it

San Marino
-Palmer tries to interview Berger after his retirement in the pits when he decides to go back out in the car again
-Zanardi doesn't realize his car is on fire as he goes through for another lap and loses a wheel
-Alliot gives Lehto a ride home after the race

Spain
-Herbert jokes that Palmer is a jinx for speaking to him before the race, leading to his premature retirement

Monaco
-Hunt calls Palmer "Jonathan Martin"
-Marshalls overreact to a small fire in Schumacher's car after he pulls over while leading the race
-Zanardi drives home Berger after the race

Canada
-Murray experiences his classic bad luck while commenting on a special camera view as it keeps disappearing when he mentions it
-Murray calls the McLaren-Ford a McLaren-Honda

France
-Murray reveals he saw Barrichello throw down some water inside his overalls

Britain
-A reserved parking sign for Senna at Club corner, after retiring there the two previous years
-A marshall sits in a retired F1 car as Murray jokes about him
-A classic Murrayism about De Cesaris' success in F1
-The champagne celebration on the podium with Murray joking about "The Little Frenchman"

Germany
-A German flag flies out of Schumacher's cockpit after the end of the race
-Boutsen gives another driver a ride back to the pits after the race
-Schumacher has lots of fun on the podium after finishing 2nd

Hungary
-A reporter interviews Prost in the pits as mechanics work on his car, with Murray noting it being a bit out of place
-Murray expresses his satisfaction with Hill's pit stop
-An "idiot" runs through the pits just in front of hill as he leaves during a later pit stop
-Berger manages to find a giant Austrian flag while on the podium after the race

Belgium
-De Cesaris isn't happy with the overreacting marshalls spraying his car after his retirement
-Hill, Prost and especially Schumacher, as usual, joke around on the podium

Italy
-Schumacher hops over an armco after retiring
-Hill gets a little over excited on the podium and sprays champagne into his own eyes

Hungary
-Berger loses it right after coming out of the pits at full speed
-Blundell angrily throws his steering wheel after his retirement
-Warwick is furious after a collision with an apologetic Patrese

Japan
-Suzuki embarrassingly tries to find a way to turn around after spinning at the chicane
-Palmer loses it and starts laughing in the commentary booth as Murray wonders which car a mysterious wheel came from

Australia
-Allard Kalff begs for the cameraman not to follow De Cesaris
-Senna powerslides around a corner on his victory lap with one hand on the wheel and the other holding a flag, as Hill manages to spin out and stall
