This is a picture of Williams F1 driver Nico Rosberg during the 2008 French GP. As Rosberg drives through the pits at Magny-Cours, photographer Andrew Ferraro snaps a picture of the helmet and face mask of a french fire fighter, aka Sapeurs-Pompiers. This helmet is even more futuristic looking than those of the McLaren or Ferrari F1 fire crew, and has a fully enclosed system complete with oxygen in case of a fire.
Click on the picture to go to a larger 1.5 MB version. Reflected in the goggle, one can see the photographer himself surrounded by the pit boxes of Kubica and Piquet along with several crew members. The picture appears to have been taken during a practice session.
