The racing weekend that was - wk 20

NASCAR's All-Star Race:
All-Star pre-race activities
The famed series of short sprint races which help make up the field for the legendary Coca-Cola 600 was won by Jamie McMurray. Kyle Busch won the first (out of five) segment quickly passing pole sitter Carl Edwards, but was side lined in the second segment. The following 2 segments was won by Casey Khane but in the 4th race he hit an oil spill and was sent into the wall. He would rejoin the race after a lengthy garage stop.

It was a night of great racing with loads of action, rubbing of walls, pushing and shoving, since all the drivers had to go all out from the fall of the green flag. MotoGP at Le Mans:
The Spanish sensation Marc Marquez became the youngest ever rider to win five consecutive races in the class, surpassing Mike Hailwood. The last time this happened was back in 2008 with Vale and though he finished third this time, it was his 150th premier class podium finish, a remarkable feat.

Rossi, Marquez and Pedrosa on the podium
Though Marquez had a bad start due to an early mistake, he managed to slowly make his way up the ladder and even though Vale held the lead for 16 laps, he knew he could not match the speed of the Honda's nor the sheer vitality of youth. It was a great race.

Results:
1. Marc Marquez, Honda
2. Dani Pedrosa, Honda
3. Valentino Rossi, Yamaha
