You've got to love RBR, not because they just won their fourth consecutive Drivers' and Constructors' Formula 1 Championships, but for the unconventional way of doing things which are most often far out there in a galaxy of their own!

Don't believe me…how about having their 750 bhp F1 car do donuts and burnouts on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab, which by the way, is 210 meters above the sea (almost 4 times as high as our Juliana brug) and only 24 meters wide. Take a look at the short video below:



As the sun rose over the horizon and immediately started casting shadows over Dubai's landmark buildings, David Coulthard put RBR F1 car through its paces, first with a burnout then with a series of donuts, which must have been a remarkable wake up call for the residents of Dubai. A very different kind of "call to prayers" I'd say.

Aston Martin's centenary celebration hits Dubai

What do luxury car makers and the country of Dubai have in common? Both think big, especially when it comes to marketing their brand.

Last month, the quintessential British sports car maker, Aston Martin, reached another high point when after kicking off its centenary celebration in London, it continued in truly spectacular fashion at one of the world's most recognizable luxury destinations, the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

The audacious event featured the airlift of Aston Martin's ultimate GT, The Vanquish, onto the iconic hotel's helipad.

"Aston Martin remains one of the most exclusive and sought-after brands in the world, so it is only right that a key element of our year-long centenary celebration takes place in a similarly high profile destination", explained Dr Bez.

The events in London and Dubai mark the start of a year-long celebration of Aston Martin, which takes place worldwide over the next 12 months.
